Product Overview
Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistors are self-regulating heating elements capable of maintaining a nearly constant temperature across a wide range of voltage and dissipation conditions. They can be manufactured in various configurations including discs, rectangles, squares, cylinders, and shapes with holes to enhance surface area. Multiple PTCs can be used in parallel for larger area heating. Key advantages include no need for a thermostat, very low cost, virtually unlimited life, no electrical noise, and no moving parts.
