Product Overview
The VCNL4200 is a highly integrated proximity and ambient light sensor with an I2C interface. It combines a sensitive proximity sensor (PS), an ambient light sensor (ALS), and a 940 nm infrared emitter (IRED) in a compact surface-mount package. Featuring photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog-to-digital converters on a single CMOS chip, it offers 16-bit resolution for ALS and 12-bit/16-bit for PS. The device includes intelligent background light cancellation, a smart persistence scheme for reduced false triggers, and patented FiltronTM technology for human-eye spectral sensitivity. It provides excellent temperature compensation and programmable interrupt functions for efficient power management. Operating voltage ranges from 2.5 V to 3.6 V.
