Product Overview
The VEML6031X00 is a high-accuracy, 16-bit resolution ambient light sensor from Vishay Semiconductors. Packaged in a miniature 2.67 mm x 2.45 mm surface-mount component, it integrates a sensitive photodiode, a low-noise amplifier, and a 16-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). It supports an easy-to-use I2C bus communication interface and an interrupt feature, providing ambient light results as digital values. The sensor utilizes FiltronTM technology for a response close to the human eye, offering a wide dynamic range from 0 lx to approximately 228 klx with a resolution down to 0.0034 lx/ct. Its excellent temperature compensation and high dynamic detection resolution make it suitable for various automotive applications, including display backlight controls, infotainment systems, rear-view mirror dimming, interior lighting control systems, and head-up displays.
