Product Overview

The VL53L8CX is a next-generation, 8x8 multizone Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor designed for enhanced performance in ambient light conditions with reduced power consumption. Leveraging STMicroelectronics' FlightSense technology, it provides accurate distance measurements up to 400 cm across a 65 diagonal Field of View (FoV). This fully integrated miniature module features a high-power 940 nm invisible light VCSEL, a receiving array of SPADs, and a low-power microcontroller. Its multizone distance measurement capability (4x4 or 8x8 zones) allows for advanced applications like SLAM for robotics, gesture recognition, system activation, content management, liquid level monitoring, and augmented/virtual reality enhancements. The sensor offers an autonomous low-power mode with programmable interrupt thresholds and supports both IC and SPI interfaces for easy integration.
