ISL76671 Low Power, <100 Lux Optimized, Analog Output Ambient Light Sensor

The ISL76671 is a low-cost, light-to-voltage silicon optical sensor designed for ambient light sensing applications. It features a photodiode array with peak sensitivity at 550nm, closely mimicking the human eye's spectral response and rejecting UV and IR light. The integrated non-linear current amplifier converts the photodiode signal into a square root output format, extending dynamic range and maintaining sensitivity in low-light conditions (0.01 lux to 100 lux). A dark current compensation circuit minimizes temperature-dependent leakage, enhancing low-lux sensitivity. The device includes a micro-power op amp capable of driving an ADC directly. Its low power consumption and compact ODFN package make it suitable for various applications, especially when mounted behind smoked bezels or mirrors.
