The BU52040HFV is a bipolar latch Hall Effect IC designed for applications such as wheel keys and trackballs. It detects magnetic field polarity switches (N to S or S to N) and maintains its output state until the next polarity change. The output is pulled low for S-pole fields and high for N-pole fields. Its micropower operation, ultra-small package, 1.8V supply voltage support, and high ESD resistance make it ideal for interface applications requiring zero-contact selection dials and rotation detection. Using two ICs enables the detection of rotation direction.
