ISL76671 Low Power, <100 Lux Optimized, Analog Output Ambient Light Sensor
The ISL76671 is a low-cost, light-to-voltage silicon optical sensor that integrates a photodiode array, a non-linear current amplifier, and a micro-power op amp on a single monolithic IC. It features peak sensitivity at 550nm, spanning 400nm to 600nm, effectively rejecting UV and IR light. The device is designed for measuring incident daylight, even behind heavily smoked bezels or mirrors, with an input luminance range from 0.01 lux to 100 lux. Its integrated non-linear current amplifier converts the photodiode signal into a square root output format, enhancing dynamic range and sensitivity in low-light conditions. A dark current compensation circuit minimizes temperature-dependent leakage currents, improving sensitivity at low lux levels. The built-in 1A op amp provides output voltage driving capability for ADCs. The ISL76671 is housed in a compact 2mmx2.1mm ODFN plastic surface mount package and operates from -40C to +105C, meeting AEC-Q100 Grade 2 specifications.
