Product Overview

The ZMOD4410 Gas Sensor Module is designed for easy implementation to detect total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), estimate CO2, and monitor indoor air quality (IAQ). It operates reliably in various conditions, including humid and dusty environments with potential for water exposure. The module integrates a gas sense element and a CMOS signal conditioning IC, utilizing a metal oxide (MOx) chemiresistor on a Si-based microhotplate. An I2C interface allows for easy data retrieval by a user's microprocessor. The firmware-configurable platform leverages machine learning and embedded AI with Renesas pre-trained models to determine TVOC concentration, IAQ rating (UBA), and estimated carbon dioxide (eCO2) levels. Alternate algorithms can output absolute TVOC for Public Building Air Quality (PBAQ) standards, relative IAQ based on VOC and odor changes, or discriminate sulfur-based odors. Its ultra-low operating current consumption makes it suitable for low-voltage and ultra-low power battery applications.
