Product Description
The KW 732 and KW 732t are reflective optical switches utilizing an Infrared LED and a phototransistor. They are designed for non-contact object sensing in various automation and safety applications. The assembly is available with PCB through-hole pins (KW 732) or 24" wires (KW 732t). An opaque housing minimizes ambient light sensitivity, and a clear window protects the emitter and sensor, allowing operation in dusty environments. The phototransistor can be configured as a common collector or common emitter device. When an object is present, light is reflected back to the phototransistor, causing it to become forward biased and enter the "ON" state, producing a current proportional to the light intensity. When no light is reflected, the phototransistor turns "OFF", minimizing current. Custom electrical, wire, cabling, and connector options are available.
