Product Overview

The OPB720A and OPB720B Series are long-distance reflective switches designed to detect objects from a distance of up to 12 inches (305 mm) using standard 90% reflective material, and can identify objects as small as 0.08 inches (2 mm). These sensors feature a synchronous detection scheme for ambient light rejection, providing a logical output that switches from high to low when a reflective target is present or absent, respectively. The series offers three standard reflective switching distances: -06Z (typically 6"/152 mm), -12Z (typically 12"/305 mm), and -30VZ (typically 30"/762 mm). The OPB720A series operates on a 10-30V supply, while the OPB720B series uses a 4-7V supply. With hysteresis, these sensors minimize output switching oscillations. They can be used in reflective or interruptive modes, with performance dependent on target material. Applications include package recognition, personnel movement detection, security systems, and dispensing systems.
