The FT18B20 is a programmable resolution 1-Wire digital thermometer offering 9-bit to 12-bit Celsius temperature measurements with a user-definable nonvolatile alarm function. It communicates via a single data line, simplifying distributed temperature sensing applications and requiring no external components. The device can be powered directly from the data line (parasite power) or via an external VDD supply, with a voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V. It features a measuring range of -55C to +125C with 0.5C accuracy from -10C to +70C. Each chip has a unique 64-bit serial number, enabling multidrop capability for up to 50 devices on a single bus. The FT18B20 boasts superb electrostatic protection (HBM 7000V, MM 700V) and is available in a 3-pin TO-92 package.
