Caution in Thermistor Sensor Usage

Users must strictly adhere to the following guidelines to prevent sensor destruction, equipment damage, or misuse:

  • Use the sensor only within specified conditions. Consult your contact person for deviations.
  • Verify sensor operation and quality during equipment design.
  • Do not exceed the rated electric power.
  • Carefully consider the dissipation constant and electric power/voltage to avoid self-heating, malfunction, or reduced precision.
  • Do not use the sensor outside its operating temperature range.
  • Avoid radical temperature changes exceeding the operating range.
  • For independent use as a main control, implement safety measures like fail-safe circuits or parallel sensor use.
  • In environments with electric noise, install protection circuits and seal the sensor (including lead wire).
  • For case-type sensors in high humidity, ensure the protected case tip is exposed to the environment and prevent direct contact with water/steam. Install with the opening facing downwards.
  • Do not apply excessive vibration or shock.
  • Avoid excessive pulling or bending of the lead wire.
  • Do not apply excessive voltage to the insulated parts or electrodes to prevent insulation malfunction.
  • Consider wiring to prevent contact failure if lead wire terminals (including connectors) are exposed to water, steam, or electrolytes.
  • Do not use in corrosive gas atmospheres (e.g., C, NH, SO, NO) or in contact with electrolytes, brine, acids, alkaline solutions, or organic solvents beyond designated conditions.
  • To prevent equipment malfunction due to metal corrosion, consider potential differences between the case and contact metals for screw-equipped sensors.
