By reading the relative width of the first echo pulse, users can receive a signal strength indication, which helps identify anomalies such as abnormal ultrasonic transducers, increased wall coverings, or air bubbles in water. The device allows for ultrasonic time-of-flight (TOF) measurements (downstream and upstream) and data reading via commands, reducing software operation and power consumption.
