Product Overview
The MIC281 is a low-cost, small-size digital thermal sensor designed for measuring the temperature of a remote PN junction. It is compatible with commodity transistors or embedded thermal diodes found in CPUs and FPGAs. Offering 100% software and hardware backward compatibility with the MIC280, it features industry-leading noise performance and an advanced integrating A/D converter for high accuracy. Communication is facilitated via a 2-wire SMBus 2.0-compatible serial interface with 5V-tolerant I/Os. Its superior performance, low power consumption, and compact size make it ideal for cost-sensitive thermal management applications in desktop computers, servers, notebooks, set-top boxes, game consoles, and appliances.
