Product Overview
The MIC284 is a versatile digital thermal supervisor designed for CPU thermal supervision in computing applications. It measures both local and remote temperatures using an 8-bit Sigma-Delta ADC and communicates via a 2-wire SMBus-compatible interface. Key features include programmable thermostat settings, open-drain interrupt and overtemperature output pins for fan control or hardware shutdown, interrupt masking, low power shutdown mode, and failsafe response to diode faults. Its superior performance, low power consumption, and small size make it suitable for demanding thermal management applications in desktop, server, and notebook computers, power supplies, test and measurement equipment, wireless systems, and networking hardware.
