The MCP9800/1/2/3 family of digital temperature sensors from Microchip Technology Inc. converts temperatures between -55C and +125C to a digital word with high accuracy. These sensors offer user-selectable resolution from 9 to 12 bits, a wide operating voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V, and a 2-wire I2C/SMBus compatible interface. Key features include low operating current (200 A typical), ultra-low shutdown current (1 A maximum), and power-saving One-shot temperature measurement. The alert output can be configured as active-low or active-high for thermostat operation or as an interrupt for microprocessor-based systems. They are ideal for sophisticated multi-zone temperature-monitoring applications.
