The MC3479 is a compact, digital output 3-axis accelerometer designed for motion sensing in cell phones and consumer products. It offers features optimized for user interface control, gaming, and electronic compass tilt compensation. The device integrates MEMS accelerometer and electronics on a single chip, enabling low power consumption and small size. It supports "any motion" and shake detection, as well as tilt/flip and tilt 35 position detection through a dedicated motion block. The internal sample rate is configurable from 0.5 to 2000 samples/second, with data accessible via polling or interrupts.
