The Littelfuse 59040 Press-Fit Firecracker Reed Sensor is a compact, cylindrical magnetically-operated proximity sensor designed for non-contact position and limit sensing. It features hermetically sealed contacts with options for normally open, normally closed, or change-over configurations, capable of switching up to 300Vdc at 10W. Its unique press-fit design with retaining ribs allows for simple, secure installation without screws, brackets, or glue, making it ideal for high-moisture and contaminated environments. The sensor operates through non-ferrous materials and is well-suited for battery-powered applications due to its low power consumption in the non-activated state. It functions optimally with the 57040 actuator (sold separately) and is applicable in security, level sensing, and linear actuator systems.
