Product Overview
KEMET's PL Series Pyroelectric Infrared Sensors leverage the pyroelectric effect of ceramic materials to detect infrared rays emitted by the human body, enabling the sensing of natural infrared signatures. These sensors are designed for reflow-capable SMD configurations and offer a lensless option for a low-profile design, or can be used with an attachable lens. They provide a wide view angle, detection through glass or resin, and low power consumption in the microampere range. With excellent radio wave performance in high-frequency bands, these compact sensors are ideal for human presence detection in energy-saving applications across office automation, home appliances, lighting, display products, and more.

Handling Precautions
Keep away from indirect and direct sunlight, headlights of cars, wind, strong vibration, and strong shock. Do not use in water, alcohol, ETA, corrosive gas, or undersea breeze. Do not drop or apply mechanical stress. Store in normal working environments, avoiding high temperatures, high humidity, corrosive atmospheres, and long-term storage. Recommended maximum storage temperature: 25C. Recommended maximum storage humidity: 50% relative humidity. Atmospheres should be free of chlorine and sulfur-bearing compounds. Minimize temperature fluctuations to avoid condensation. Use sensors promptly, preferably within six months of receipt.
