Product Overview
The KP204 PRO-SIL is a pressure sensor designed for side crash detection in passenger cars. It is integrated into door modules to detect pressure changes within the door during a side impact. The sensor provides a signal pulse proportional to the relative pressure change (p/p0), calculated on-chip by dividing the absolute pressure change by the ambient pressure. This relative pressure is transmitted as a digital Manchester encoded output signal, enabling autonomous operation without additional logic ICs. The KP204 is qualified for automotive applications according to AEC-Q100 and features synchronous and asynchronous data transmission modes based on PSI5 standards.
