TLE4998S3C Programmable Linear Hall Sensor
The TLE4998S3C is a programmable linear Hall sensor IC designed for highly accurate rotation and position detection, as well as current measurement applications. It features a digital SENT output signal (SAE J2716) with 20-bit Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and digital temperature compensation, offering a 16-bit overall resolution. The sensor operates within the automotive temperature range with low drift of output signal over temperature and lifetime. Its programmable parameters, stored in EEPROM with single-bit error correction, include SENT unit time, magnetic range and sensitivity, output slope polarity, offset, bandwidth, clamping levels, and customer temperature compensation coefficients. The device is re-programmable until memory lock and supports a supply voltage range of 4.5 - 5.5 V (4.1 - 16 V extended). It can operate between -200 mT and +200 mT within three ranges. The TLE4998S3C offers reverse-polarity and overvoltage protection for all pins, output short-circuit protection, and on-board diagnostics. It provides the output of internal magnetic field values and temperature, and supports programming and operation of multiple sensors with common power supply. The sensor allows for two-point calibration of the magnetic transfer function without iteration steps and boasts high immunity against mechanical stress, EMC, and ESD. It is supplied in a PG-SSO-3-92 package and includes integrated capacitors for enhanced EMC performance. The open-drain output requires an external pull-up resistor, allowing for receiver supply voltages as low as 3.3 V.
