The Honeywell HMC1501 and HMC1512 are miniature surface mount Anisotropic Magnetoresistive (AMR) sensors designed for linear, angular, or rotary displacement. They utilize saturated-mode Wheatstone bridge elements to sense magnetic flux direction, offering advantages over Hall-effect sensors such as better resolution, wider magnet-to-sensor gap tolerance, and insensitivity to shock and vibration. These cost-effective and space-efficient solutions are ideal for high-volume OEM designs in applications like position sensing, rotary speed and angle detection, and non-contact precision location measurement.
