Product Overview

The HIH-5030/5031 Series Low Voltage Humidity Sensors are designed for high-volume OEM applications, operating down to 2.7 Vdc, making them ideal for battery-powered systems. These Surface Mount Devices (SMD) are supplied on tape and reel for automated manufacturing. They offer a near-linear voltage output for direct input to controllers and feature low current draw (typically 200 A). Tight sensor interchangeability minimizes OEM production calibration costs. The HIH-5030 is a covered integrated circuit humidity sensor, while the HIH-5031 is additionally condensation-resistant with a factory-fitted hydrophobic filter for use in condensing environments. Both utilize a laser-trimmed, thermoset polymer capacitive sensing element with integrated signal conditioning, providing excellent resistance to environmental hazards.
