Product Description
Product Overview
YGM Motor Protectors PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Thermistors are designed for rapid response thermal protection of electrical machines. They act as thermal protectors for electrical motors, featuring a non-linear resistance/temperature response where resistance rapidly increases to a very high value at a specified temperature. Available with or without an insulated sleeve and with flexible connecting leads, these compact PTC thermistors are suitable for easy assembly into windings. They are particularly suited for monitoring the windings of electric machines and for use in simple fail-safe circuitry. When a given temperature is exceeded, the PTC-sensor's extremely high ohmic value can switch off the circuit through a relay or amplifier, effectively acting as a circuit break or thermistor failure.Product Attributes

Installation Tips for PTC Temperature Sensors in Electrical Windings:
- Thermistors can only be inserted in the windings before impregnation.
- Embed one thermistor in each phase, ideally in the center of the coil generating most heat, and generally on the outflow side of any air movement.
- Air inflow onto the temperature sensor will interfere with heat transfer.
- For varnishes/lacquers that are not chemically neutral, suitability tests must be undertaken by the customer.
- WARNING! Install the sensor parallel with the copper of the winding to ensure teflon leads assume the form of the winding and retain high-voltage resistance rating.
