Product Description
Product Overview
YGM Motor Protectors PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Thermistors are designed for rapid response thermal protection of electrical machines. These compact sensors are easily assembled into windings and feature flexible connecting leads. They exhibit a non-linear resistance/temperature response, rapidly changing to a very high resistance value at a specified temperature, allowing for effective circuit interruption via a relay or amplifier. Ideal for monitoring the windings of electric motors and for use in simple fail-safe circuitry, they are available with or without an insulated sleeve.Product Attributes

| Cold Resistance: Ideally between 40 - 200 ohms, can be anywhere between 35 - 250 ohms. Resistance values below NAT 20 are not specified. | |||||||||
| Resistance Change: Greatest change occurs between 5 C either side of NAT, being at least 15%/K. | |||||||||
Installation Tips
- For PTC temperature sensors in electrical windings, thermistors can only be inserted before impregnation.
- Embed one sensor in each phase, ideally in the center of the hottest coil and on the outflow side of air movement.
- Air inflow onto the sensor can interfere with heat transfer.
- For varnishes/lacquers not chemically neutral, suitability tests must be undertaken by the customer.
- WARNING! Install the sensor parallel with the copper of the winding to allow teflon leads to conform to the winding shape and retain high-voltage resistance rating.
