Product Description
Product Overview
YGM Motor Protectors PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Thermistors are designed as thermal protectors for electrical motors. They offer rapid response protection for electrical machines and are compact for easy assembly into windings. These PTC thermistors feature a non-linear resistance/temperature response, rapidly increasing resistance to a very high value at a specified temperature, acting as a fail-safe mechanism. They are suitable for monitoring motor windings and for use in simple fail-safe circuitry, effectively switching off the circuit via a relay or amplifier when a critical temperature is exceeded. Available with or without an insulated sleeve and flexible connecting leads, they are manufactured by YGM.Product Attributes

Installation Tips for PTC Temperature Sensors in Electrical Windings:
- Thermistors can only be inserted in the windings before impregnation.
- Embed one thermistor in each phase, ideally in the center of the coil generating most heat, and generally on the outflow side of air movement.
- Air inflow onto the temperature sensor can interfere with heat transfer.
- If using varnish/lacquer which is not chemically neutral, suitability tests must be undertaken by the customer.
- WARNING! Install the sensor parallel with the copper of the winding so that the Teflon leads can assume the form of the winding, thereby retaining the high-voltage resistance rating.
