Product Overview
The Broadcom AFBR-S50MV85I is a multi-pixel optical distance and motion measurement sensor module utilizing the Time-of-Flight (ToF) principle. Designed for high speed and accuracy at medium ranges, it offers a compact size and very low power consumption. Its ambient light suppression allows for outdoor use in sunlight, and it accurately measures various surface types including white, black, colored, metallic, and retroreflective. The module features an integrated infrared laser light source, internal clock, and requires a single 5.0V power supply. Data is transmitted via a digital Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) with standard 3.3V CMOS levels. System health is monitored using a reference pixel and integrated voltage/temperature sensors. Frame rates up to 3 kHz are supported, with a 2f mode enabling an unambiguous range of up to 100m at frame rates up to 100 Hz.
