Product Overview
The HEDS-55xx/56xx and HEDM-55xx/56xx series are high-performance, low-cost, two and three-channel optical incremental encoders designed for easy assembly and high reliability. These encoders offer high resolution and feature a lensed LED source, an integrated circuit with detectors and output circuitry, and a codewheel. They provide two square waves in quadrature, with an optional third channel index output for three-channel models. The HEDS series uses metal codewheels, while the HEDM series utilizes film codewheels for resolutions up to 1024 CPR. They are suitable for various motor mounting applications, including those with larger diameter motors featuring external mounting ears. The outputs are accessed via five 0.025-inch square pins on 0.1-inch centers.
