The AEDR-8000 Encoder series is a reflective surface mount optical encoder designed for motion sensing applications. It offers direct replacement for the HEDR-8000 series and provides single-channel incremental and two-channel quadrature outputs for direction sensing. Utilizing an LED light source and photo-detecting circuitry in a single package, it translates rotary or linear motion into digital outputs. Its small size and surface mount package make it ideal for high-volume applications where space and weight are critical, such as printers, copiers, card readers, and other consumer products.
