Product Overview
The BDH8244 is a unipolar Hall-effect switch IC designed for electronic commutation in brushless DC motor applications. It integrates a voltage regulator, temperature compensation circuit, small signal amplifier, and Schmitt trigger, with an open-drain current capability of up to 25mA. The device outputs a low level (ON) when the magnetic field perpendicular to the Hall element exceeds the operating point threshold (BOP), and a high level (OFF) when the field drops below the release point (BRP). The difference between BOP and BRP defines the magnetic hysteresis (BHYS). An uncertain output state may occur if the device powers up within the hysteresis range (below BOP, above BRP); the output will enter the correct state after first exceeding either the BOP or BRP threshold. The BDH8244 is suitable for brushless DC motors, motor and fan control, and position and speed sensing.
