Product Overview
The D-44 BW Series Area Sensor is a high-performance through-beam type sensor designed for long-distance detection up to 7 meters. It offers a wide range of configurations with 22 product types, featuring optical axis pitches of 20mm or 40mm and sensing heights from 120mm to 940mm. The 20mm optical axis pitch minimizes unsensing areas, making it ideal for detecting smaller targets. High-brightness LEDs on both the emitter and receiver ensure easy recognition from various angles and distances. Integrated self-diagnosis, mutual interference prevention, and external diagnosis functions enhance reliability and ease of maintenance. The sensor boasts an IP65 protection structure according to IEC standards, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments.

Dimensions
(Refer to attached diagrams for detailed dimensions of Emitter, Receiver, Bracket A, and Bracket B. Dimensions are provided in mm.)
Input/Output Circuit and Connections
Wiring Connection:
- Pin 1 (Brown): 12-24VDC
- Pin 2 (White): SYNC
- Pin 3 (Blue): 0V
- Pin 4 (Black): TEST (M/S)
Operation Indicator:
- Green LED: POWER (Stable light ON)
- Yellow LED: Unstable light ON
- Red LED: Stable light OFF
Control Output: NPN or PNP open collector output.
Functions
- Self-diagnosis: Emitter/Receiver monitoring, direct light monitoring, over current monitoring. Control output turns OFF and operation indicator displays status upon error.
- Interference Protection: Master/Slave function to prevent sensing errors when multiple sensors are used in parallel.
- External Diagnosis: TEST input on the emitter stops light emission when set to 0V, allowing external systems to verify operation.
Proper Usage
- Follow instructions in 'Proper Usage' to prevent accidents.
- Use 12-24VDC power supply that is insulated and limited voltage/current or Class 2, SELV.
- Wait 1 second after supplying power before using the product. Supply power to the sensor first if using separate power supplies for sensor and load.
- For switching mode power supplies, ground F.G. terminal and connect a condenser between 0V and F.G. terminal to remove noise.
- Remove surge with diodes or varistors when connecting DC relays or inductive loads.
- Keep wires short and away from high voltage or power lines to prevent surge and inductive noise.
- Suitable for indoor use (within specified environmental conditions), altitude max. 2,000m, pollution degree 2, installation category II.
