Product Description

D-44 BW Series Area Sensor

Product Overview

The D-44 BW Series Area Sensor is a through-beam type photoelectric sensor designed for long-distance detection up to 7 meters. It offers a wide range of configurations with 22 product types, featuring optical axis pitches of 20mm or 40mm and sensing heights from 120mm to 940mm. The 20mm optical axis pitch minimizes unsensing areas, making it ideal for detecting smaller targets. High-brightness LEDs on both the emitter and receiver ensure easy recognition from side, front, and long distances. The sensor incorporates self-diagnosis, mutual interference prevention, and external diagnosis functions for reliable operation. Its robust IP65 protection structure (IEC standard) makes it suitable for various industrial environments.

Troubleshooting

Cause Troubleshooting
Not operating
  • Supply the rated power.
  • Check the wiring.
  • Use it within rated sensing distance.
  • Remove dirt by soft brush or cloth.
  • Check the assembled part of the connector.
Control output is OFF even though there is no target object.
  • Out of rated sensing distance.
  • There is an obstacle to cut off the light emitted between emitter and receiver.
  • There is a strong electric wave or noise generated by motor, electric generator, high voltage line etc.
LED displays for break of light emitting element Break of light emitting element
LED displays for failure of emitter Break of light emitting circuit
LED displays for failure of receiver Break of light emitting receiving element
LED displays for synchronous line Synchronous line incorrect connection or disconnection. Break of synchronous circuit of emitter or receiver.
LED displays for control output over current
  • Control output line is shorten.
  • Over load.
LED displays for emitter malfunction Emitter malfunction.

Proper Usage

  • Follow instructions in 'Proper Usage'. Otherwise, it may cause unexpected accidents.
  • 12-24VDC power supply should be insulated and limited voltage/current or Class 2, SELV power supply device.
  • Use the product, 1 sec after supplying power. When using separate power supply for the sensor and load, supply power to sensor first.
  • When using switching mode power supply to supply the power, ground F.G. terminal and connect a condenser between 0V and F.G. terminal to remove noise.
  • When connecting a DC relay or other inductive load, remove surge by using diodes or varistors.
  • Wire as short as possible and keep away from high voltage lines or power lines, to prevent surge and inductive noise.
  • This unit may be used in the following environments: Indoors (in the environment condition rated in 'Specifications'), Altitude max. 2,000m, Pollution degree 2, Installation category II.
