Product Overview
The D-44 BW Series Area Sensor is a through-beam type photoelectric sensor designed for long-distance detection up to 7 meters. It offers a wide range of configurations with 22 product types, featuring optical axis pitches of 20mm or 40mm and sensing heights from 120mm to 940mm. The 20mm optical axis pitch minimizes unsensing areas, making it ideal for precise detection. High-brightness LEDs on both emitter and receiver ensure easy recognition from various angles and distances. The sensor incorporates essential functions like self-diagnosis, mutual interference prevention, and external diagnosis, all housed in a robust IP65-rated protection structure.

Key Features & Functions
- Long sensing distance up to 7m.
- Wide range of product types: 22 models with varying optical axis pitches (20/40mm) and sensing heights (120 to 940mm).
- Minimizes unsensing area with 20mm optical axis pitch (BW20- models).
- High brightness LED on emitter and receiver for easy side, front, and long-distance recognition.
- Self-diagnosis function: Emitter/Receiver monitoring, direct light monitoring, over current monitoring.
- Mutual interference prevention function (Master/Slave).
- External diagnosis function: Emitting stops when TEST input is 0V, allowing external system monitoring.
- Protection circuit: Reverse polarity protection, output short over current protection.
Installation & Usage
- Mounting: Brackets A and B are available.
- Interference Prevention: For multi-sensor installations, use Master/Slave configuration, ensure opposite transmission direction, install baffles, or maintain sufficient installation distance.
- Proper Usage: Use within rated sensing distance, ensure correct wiring, and use appropriate power supply (12-24VDC, insulated, limited voltage/current or Class 2, SELV). Allow 1 second after power supply before use. For switching mode power supplies, ground F.G. terminal and connect a condenser. For inductive loads, remove surge with diodes or varistors. Keep wires short and away from high voltage/power lines.
- Environmental Conditions: Suitable for indoor use within specified environmental conditions, altitude max. 2,000m, pollution degree 2, installation category II. Avoid direct fluorescent light with high speed start or high frequency.
