Product Overview
The D-44 BW Series Area Sensor is a high-performance through-beam type sensor designed for long-distance detection up to 7 meters. It offers a wide range of configurations with 22 product types, featuring optical axis pitches of 20mm or 40mm and sensing heights from 120mm to 940mm. The 20mm optical axis pitch minimizes unsensing areas, making it ideal for precise detection. High-brightness LEDs on both the emitter and receiver ensure easy recognition from various angles and distances. The sensor includes advanced features such as a self-diagnosis function, mutual interference prevention, and external diagnosis capabilities, all housed in a robust IP65 rated protection structure.

Functions
- Self-diagnosis: Emitter/Receiver monitoring, direct light monitoring, over current monitoring. Control output turns OFF if an error occurs, with operation indicator displaying status.
- Interference Protection: Master/slave function to prevent sensing errors caused by light interference when using multiple sensors.
- External Diagnosis: Stopping emission by setting TEST input (black) of emitter to 0V. Red LED on emitter flashes. Allows external system to verify sensor operation.

Proper Usage
- Follow instructions in 'Proper Usage'. Otherwise, it may cause unexpected accidents.
- Use 12-24VDC power supply that is insulated, limited voltage/current, or Class 2, SELV.
- Use the product 1 second after supplying power. If using separate power supplies for the sensor and load, supply power to the sensor first.
- When using a switching mode power supply, ground the F.G. terminal and connect a condenser between 0V and F.G. terminal to remove noise.
- When connecting a DC relay or other inductive load, remove surge by using diodes or varistors.
- Wire as short as possible and keep away from high voltage lines or power lines to prevent surge and inductive noise.
- This unit may be used in the following environments:
- Indoors (within rated environmental conditions)
- Altitude max. 2,000m
- Pollution degree 2
- Installation category II
