Product Description

Product Overview

The D-44 BW Series Area Sensor is a high-performance through-beam type photoelectric sensor designed for long-distance detection up to 7 meters. It offers a wide range of configurations with 22 product types, featuring optical axis pitches of 20mm or 40mm and sensing heights from 120mm to 940mm. The 20mm optical axis pitch minimizes unsensing areas, making it ideal for detecting smaller objects. High-brightness LEDs on both the emitter and receiver ensure easy recognition from side, front, and long distances. The sensor incorporates essential functions like self-diagnosis, mutual interference prevention, and external diagnosis, along with an IP65 protection structure for robust operation in industrial environments.

Troubleshooting

Cause Troubleshooting
Not operating Supply rated power. Check cable connections. Use within rated sensing distance.
Not operating sometimes Clean sensor cover. Check connector connections.
Control output is OFF even though there is no target object Ensure within rated sensing distance. Remove any obstacles between emitter and receiver. Shield from strong electric waves or noise generators.
LED displays for break of light emitting element Break of light emitting element.
LED displays for failure of emitter Break of light emitting circuit.
LED displays for failure of receiver Break of light receiving element.
LED displays for synchronous line Synchronous line incorrect connection or disconnection. Break of synchronous circuit.
LED displays for control output over current Output line is shorted. Overload.
LED displays for emitter malfunction Emitter malfunction.

Proper Usage

  • Follow instructions in 'Proper Usage'.
  • Use 12-24VDC power supply that is insulated and limited voltage/current or Class 2, SELV.
  • Wait 1 second after supplying power before use. Supply power to sensor first if using separate power supplies.
  • For switching mode power supplies, ground F.G. terminal and connect a condenser between 0V and F.G. terminal to remove noise.
  • When connecting inductive loads like DC relays, remove surge using diodes or varistors.
  • Wire as short as possible and keep away from high voltage lines or power lines to prevent surge and inductive noise.
  • Suitable for indoor use (within rated environment conditions), altitude max. 2,000m, pollution degree 2, installation category II.
