Product Description

Product Overview

The D-44 BW Series Area Sensor is a high-performance through-beam photoelectric sensor designed for long-distance detection up to 7 meters. It offers a wide range of configurations with 22 product types, featuring optical axis pitches of 20mm or 40mm and sensing heights from 120mm to 940mm. The 20mm optical axis pitch minimizes unsensing areas, while high-brightness LEDs ensure easy recognition from various angles and distances. This sensor includes essential functions such as self-diagnosis, mutual interference prevention, and external diagnosis, all housed within an IP65 protected structure. It is ideal for industrial applications requiring reliable and precise detection.

  • Receiver: +V (Brown), SYNC (White), 0V (Blue), OUT (Black)

Operation Indicator

  • LED Color: Green (POWER), Yellow (Unstable), Red (TEST (M/S))

Functions

  • Self-diagnosis: Emitter/Receiver monitoring, direct light monitoring, over current monitoring. Control output turns OFF and operation indicator displays error status.
  • Interference protection: Operates a sensor as MASTER and another as SLAVE to avoid sensing errors due to light interference.
  • External diagnosis: When TEST input (black) of emitter is 0V, emitting stops, and the red LED of the emitter flashes. This allows external systems to verify sensor operation.
  • Protection circuit: Reverse polarity protection circuit, output short over current protection circuit.

Installation and Usage

  • Mounting: Bracket A, Bracket B
  • Operation mode: Light ON fixed
  • Installation: Emitter and receiver should be installed in the same up/down direction. Avoid installation where light reflected from walls or flat surfaces can be an issue. Ensure normal operation with a sensing target before use.
  • Interference Prevention: When using multiple sensors in parallel, install them with opposite transmission directions, use baffles, or ensure installation outside the interference distance. Use the interference protection function (MASTER/SLAVE).
  • Proper Usage: Follow instructions, use insulated and limited voltage/current power supply (Class 2, SELV). Wait 1 second after supplying power. Ground F.G. terminal and connect a condenser when using switching mode power supply. Remove surge with diodes or varistors for inductive loads. Keep wires short and away from high voltage lines.
