Product Overview
The D-44 BW Series Area Sensor is a through-beam type photoelectric sensor designed for long-distance detection up to 7 meters. It offers a wide range of configurations with 22 product types, featuring optical axis pitches of 20mm or 40mm and sensing heights from 120mm to 940mm. The 20mm optical axis pitch (BW20-) minimizes unsensing areas. High-brightness LEDs on both the emitter and receiver ensure easy recognition from side, front, and long distances. The sensor includes essential functions such as self-diagnosis, mutual interference prevention, and external diagnosis, and boasts an IP65 protection structure (IEC standard). It is suitable for various industrial automation applications requiring reliable object detection over extended ranges.

Safety and Usage Precautions
- Read Safety Considerations in the instruction manual before use.
- Use a 12-24VDC power supply that is insulated and limited voltage/current or Class 2, SELV.
- Wait 1 second after supplying power before using the product. Supply power to the sensor first if using separate power supplies.
- Ground F.G. terminal and connect a condenser between 0V and F.G. terminal when using a switching mode power supply to remove noise.
- Remove surge by using diodes or varistors when connecting DC relays or other inductive loads.
- Keep wires short and away from high voltage lines or power lines to prevent surge and inductive noise.
- Suitable for indoor use within rated environmental conditions, altitude max. 2,000m, pollution degree 2, and installation category II.
Troubleshooting
- Not operating: Check power supply, cable connections, and ensure operation within rated sensing distance.
- Not operating sometimes: Clean sensor cover, check connector connections.
- Control output OFF with no target object: Verify operation within rated sensing distance, check for obstacles blocking light, and ensure no strong electric waves or noise sources are present.
- LED displays for errors: Refer to specific LED indicators for issues like break of light emitting element, emitter malfunction, receiver failure, synchronous line issues, control output overcurrent, or emitter malfunction. Contact Autonics Corp. for specific failures.
