AS621x Digital Temperature Sensor
The AS621x is a high-accuracy digital temperature sensor system designed for a wide range of applications, particularly those requiring low power consumption and easy integration. It features a Si bandgap temperature sensor, an ADC, and a digital signal processor, all communicating via a 2-wire digital bus (IC). The AS621x family offers three variants (AS6212, AS6214, AS6218) with differing temperature accuracies. Its key benefits include high measurement accuracy, ultra-low power consumption (6 A typical operation, 0.1 A typical standby), a wide supply voltage range (1.71 3.6 V), and a small PCB footprint (1.5 mm x 1 mm WLCSP). The sensor is factory-calibrated, offers integrated linearization, and supports up to eight IC addresses on a single bus. An alert functionality is also included to trigger interrupts for over-temperature protection. The AS621x production test setup is calibrated against NIST, with verification equipment calibrated by an ISO/IEC-17025 accredited laboratory.
