Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting Guide:

Cause Troubleshooting
Not operating
  • Power supply: Supply the rated power.
  • Cable connection: Check wiring for incorrect connection or disconnection.
  • Sensing distance: Ensure operation within the rated sensing distance.
  • Sensor cover: Remove dirt from the sensor cover with a soft brush or cloth.
  • Connector: Check the assembled part of the connector for failure.
Control output is OFF even though there is no target object.
  • Sensing distance: Use within the rated sensing distance.
  • Obstacle: Remove any obstacle blocking the light between emitter and receiver.
  • Noise: Move the sensor away from strong electric wave or noise generators (motors, high voltage lines, etc.).

Proper Usage

  1. Follow instructions in 'Proper Usage'. Failure to do so may cause unexpected accidents.
  2. Use a 12-24VDC power supply that is insulated and limited voltage/current, or a Class 2, SELV power supply device.
  3. Use the product 1 second after supplying power. If using separate power supplies for the sensor and load, supply power to the sensor first.
  4. When using a switching mode power supply, ground the F.G. terminal and connect a condenser between the 0V and F.G. terminals to remove noise.
  5. When connecting a DC relay or other inductive load, remove surge by using diodes or varistors.
  6. Wire as short as possible and keep away from high voltage lines or power lines to prevent surge and inductive noise.
  7. This unit may be used in the following environments:
    • Indoors (within the environment conditions rated in 'Specifications')
    • Altitude max. 2,000m
    • Pollution degree 2
    • Installation category II
