Product Overview
The AS5048 is an easy-to-use 14-bit high-resolution magnetic rotary encoder that measures the absolute position of a magnet's rotation angle. It integrates Hall sensors, an analog-to-digital converter, and digital signal processing to provide absolute position information accessible via PWM, SPI (AS5048A), or IC (AS5048B) interfaces. The zero position is programmable, simplifying assembly and eliminating the need for mechanical alignment. Its robustness against misalignment, air gap variations, temperature fluctuations, and external magnetic fields, coupled with a wide operating temperature range (-40C to 150C), makes it ideal for harsh industrial and medical environments. Multiple AS5048 ICs can be daisy-chained for serial data readout. The device supports both 3.3V and 5V supply voltages.
