Product Overview

The AGS02MA is a MEMS TVOC gas sensor with a calibrated digital signal output. It utilizes specialized digital module acquisition technology and gas sensing technology to ensure high reliability and excellent long-term stability. This MEMS gas sensor offers features such as low power consumption, high sensitivity, fast response, high reliability and stability, low cost, and simple drive circuitry. It is primarily used for monitoring polluting gases in the environment, including formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, combustible gases, alcohol, ammonia, sulfides, benzene vapors, smoke, and other harmful gases. Important Notes and Application Information

  • Water Environment: Exposure to water can reduce sensor sensitivity or cause damage. Condensation can also affect performance. Freezing water on the sensor surface can cause material layer cracking.
  • High Concentration Gases: Long-term exposure to high concentrations of gases (e.g., lighter gas, hydrocarbons, hydrogen) can severely damage the sensor, even when not powered. Avoid measurement in areas with high airflow, such as vents or direct fan exposure, as this leads to inaccurate measurements. High CO2 concentrations may have a slight impact.
  • High Voltage & Polarity Reversal: Applying voltage exceeding 5.5V will cause irreversible damage. Reverse polarity will also damage the sensor circuit.
  • Alkaline, Acidic Environments, and Halogen Contamination: Exposure to alkaline or acidic liquid sprays, or halogens like Freon, degrades performance. High concentrations of corrosive gases (H2S, SO2, Cl2, HCl) can corrode or damage the sensor and its sensitive materials irreversibly.
  • Exposure to Volatile Silicone Compounds: Avoid environments with silicone adhesives, hairspray, silicone rubber, putty, or other sources of volatile silicone compounds. Silicone compounds can decompose and encapsulate the sensitive material, irreversibly inhibiting sensitivity.
  • Long-Term Storage: Unpowered storage can lead to reversible resistance drift. Store in a sealed bag free of volatile silicone compounds. Sensors stored for extended periods require longer power-on time for stabilization.
  • Exposure to Extreme Conditions: Prolonged exposure to extreme conditions (high humidity, high temperature, high pollution) can severely affect sensor performance.
  • Vibration: Frequent and excessive vibration can cause internal wire breakage.
  • Shock: Strong impact or drops can lead to component loosening and wire breakage.
  • Usage Conditions: Hand soldering is ideal (temperature < 300, time < 3 seconds, use low-chlorine rosin flux). Wave soldering is prohibited. Do not clean with alcohol, cleaning agents, or other liquids.
  • Wiring: High-quality shielded cables are recommended for DATA signal lines to ensure communication distance and quality.
