Product Overview
The TMD2772/TMD2772WA family of devices offers a digital ambient light sensing (ALS) and a complete proximity detection system with integrated digital interface logic in a compact 8-pin surface mount module. These devices are register-set and pin-compatible with the TMD2771 family, featuring enhanced ALS and proximity detection capabilities, including a reduced-gain mode for extended sunlight operation and improved signal-to-noise performance for proximity detection. They are available with 25 (TMD2772) and 50 (TMD2772WA) fields of view. The ALS utilizes ams' patented dual-diode technology for human-eye-like light response, while the proximity system includes a factory-trimmed IR LED driver to eliminate end-equipment calibration needs. A proximity offset register allows compensation for optical crosstalk, and a saturation indicator bit prevents false readings.
