The TSL2772 device family is a light-to-digital converter offering both ambient light sensing (ALS) and proximity detection when paired with an external IR LED. Utilizing ams OSRAM's patented dual-diode technology, it provides accurate ALS measurements that approximate human eye response under various lighting conditions. The device features a reduced-gain mode for extended operating range up to 60k lux in sunlight and includes a UV-rejection filter for precise ALS. Proximity detection is enhanced with improved signal-to-noise performance, selectable gain modes, and a proximity offset register for crosstalk compensation.
