The AS5161 is a 12-bit contactless magnetic angle position sensor designed for accurate angular measurement over a full 360 turn. It integrates Hall elements, analog front end, digital signal processing, and automotive protection features onto a single chip. Requiring only a simple two-pole magnet, it provides instant absolute angle indication with a resolution of 0.022 (16384 positions per revolution). The angular output is available via a 12-bit pulse width modulated (PWM) output. The device operates at a 5V supply and features overvoltage and reverse polarity protection.
