Product Overview
The AS5171 is a high-resolution on-axis magnetic angular position sensor designed for precise absolute angle measurement. It utilizes Hall sensor technology to measure the orthogonal component of magnetic flux density, compensating for stray fields with a robust 14-bit sensor array and analog front-end. Available with analog (AS5171E) or programmable digital (AS5171B) output interfaces (PWM or SENT-compliant), it requires only a simple two-pole magnet for operation. The device offers robust protection against overvoltage and reverse polarity, operating at a 5V supply. Its System-in-Package (SIP) design integrates the sensor and decoupling capacitors, eliminating the need for external components and PCBs, thereby reducing system costs. The AS5171 is defined as a Safety Element out of Context (SEooC) according to ISO26262.
