Product Overview

The APX8132A is an ultra-sensitive, pole-independent Hall-effect switch with a latched digital output, designed for low-voltage (2.5V to 3.5V) operation. Its unique clocking scheme reduces average power requirements, making it ideal for battery-powered applications. The device activates its output when exposed to either a north or south pole of sufficient magnetic flux and deactivates it in the absence of a magnetic field. This polarity independence and minimal power consumption allow it to serve as a superior replacement for reed switches, offering enhanced signal conditioning. Manufactured using advanced CMOS processing and available in a compact SOT-23 package, the APX8132A is suitable for micro switch applications, handheld device wake-up functions, clamp shell type switches, and low duty cycle magnetic switching.
