Product Overview
The AS5715A/AS5715R is an on-/off-axis inductive position sensor IC with differential SIN/COS output, designed for high-speed position sensing applications. It requires a coil system (TX and RX coils) integrated on a PCB. The device excites the TX coil, and the position of a target above the coil system influences the induced voltage in the RX coils. This induced voltage is sensed, demodulated, and amplified by the AS5715A/AS5715R, producing SIN and COS shaped outputs. An ECU can then calculate the target's position using an atan2() function. The AS5715A/AS5715R is defined as a Safety Element out of Context (SEooC) according to ISO26262.
