The AS5116 is a contactless magnetic position sensor designed for precise 360 angular measurement. Utilizing Hall sensor technology, it offers a robust solution for detecting the orthogonal magnetic flux density (Bz) during full-turn rotation. It requires a simple two-pole magnet rotating over the device, which can be positioned above or below. The sensor provides absolute angle measurement with instant indication of the magnet's position through buffered differential sine and cosine voltage outputs. It operates with a supply voltage of 5 V or 3.3 V.
