The Piher Sensing Systems PS2P-ARC is a play-resistant arc position sensor designed to provide immunity to radial and axial play in pivot joints. This touchless sensor utilizes a magnetized arc magnet and an electronics module, eliminating the need for gears or linkages, which simplifies mounting, reduces production costs, and enhances product reliability and durability. The PS2P-ARC measures position changes by detecting the movement of a sinusoidal magnetized arc magnet, sensitive only to flux density co-planar with the IC surface. It offers unlimited mechanical life, true touchless operation, and is built for harsh environments with IP69K sealing, a wide operating temperature range, and resistance to shock and vibration. As an absolute sensor, it retains position values even after power failure. The PS2P series also includes touchless linear (PS2P-LIN) and angular (PS2P-CON) position sensors, all delivering consistent precision and stability throughout their lifetime. Adaptable to specific requirements, it offers custom mechanical designs, programmable transfer functions, switch outputs, and various output protocols and redundancy levels.
