The Piher Sensing Systems PS2P-ARC is a play-resistant arc position sensor designed to provide immunity to radial and axial play in pivot joints, ensuring consistent operational performance and reducing maintenance. It features a contactless design with a magnet attached to rotating parts and an electronics module to the chassis, eliminating the need for gears or linkages for easy mounting and cost reduction. The PS2P-ARC accurately measures position changes by detecting the movement of a sinusoidal magnetized arc magnet, offering high precision and stability even in harsh environments with extreme vibration, shock, temperature, and contamination. As an absolute sensor, it retains position values even after power failure. Complementary sensors in the PS2P series include touchless linear (PS2P-LIN) and angular (PS2P-CON) position sensors.
